VN-Index gains 10 points on blue chip rally
The rally of blue chips pushed the VN-Index, which represents the Ho Chi Minh Stock Exchange (HoSE), up 10.49 points, or 0.96%, to 1,108.31 on Tuesday.
The major bourse saw 262 gainers and 121 losers. Over 842 million shares changed hands for VND15.6 trillion ($664.1 million), down nearly VND2 trillion from the previous session.
Blue chips were the main support for the VN-Index expansion as their VN30 index rose 11.24 points to 1,102.32, with up to 24 tickers gaining and only six losing.

Real estate, banking, securities and industry groups recorded strong increase and attracted the most cash flow. Eight out of 10 stocks with the biggest contributions to the market came from these groups, including VIC of Vingroup (2.11%), VHM of its real estate arm Vinhomes (2.42%), VCB of Vietcombank (1.02%), TCB of Techcombank (2.51%), and MBB of MBBank (3.28%).
Green overwhelmed property tickers. Six of them hit their ceiling prices, mostly small-caps, including CRE of Century Land JSC and QCG of Quoc Cuong Gia Lai Group.
Securities stocks made the best performance with VND of VNDirect Securities enjoying the maximum increase; SSI of Saigon Securities up 4.36%, VCI of Viet Capital Securities 2.47%, HCM of Ho Chi Minh City Securities 3.17%, FTS of FPT Securities 3.3%, BSI of BIDV Securities 2.76%, and VIX of VIX Securities 4.81%.
Tickers of airlines took off with VJC of low-cost airline Vietjet Air increasing 0.93% and HVN of national flag carrier Vietnam Airlines 0.37%.
Meanwhile, divergence was seen in some groups such as manufacturing, energy and retail.
Foreign investors turned net buyers on the HoSE after five consecutive net-selling sessions to the tune of more than VND66 billion ($2.8 million). They mainly net purchased securities codes such as SSI and VND.
The HNX-Index on the Hanoi bourse rose 2.16 points to 228.72, while the UpCOM-Index on the unlisted public company market expanded 0.32 points to 84.43.
