Amkor, Synopsys, Intel among big names attending Vietnam’s first semiconductor expo
Many international and Vietnamese tech giants will attend the first semiconductor exhibition in Vietnam next month as the country seeks to increase its footing in the global supply chain.
SEMIExpo Vietnam is expected to draw the participation of around 5,000 delegates and 100 booths from tech giants including GlobalFoundries, Intel, Amkor, Coherent, Infineon, Lam Research, Marvell, Qorvo, Cadence, Synopsys, Siemens, Tektronix, CoAsia, Dolphin, Brainport Industries, and FPT.
The November 7-8 event in Hanoi is being organized by the National Innovation Center (NIC) in coordination with the Semiconductor Equipment and Materials International (SEMI).
Information about the events was provided at a Wednesday press meet at the Ministry of Planning and Investment headquarters in the capital city.

“With the expo, Vietnam will not only elevate its position on the global semiconductor map but also open up opportunities for businesses, students and investors,” said NIC director Vu Quoc Huy.
Linda Tan, president of SEMI Southeast Asia, said that with strong support from the government and efforts to develop a vibrant semiconductor ecosystem, Vietnam is prepared to contribute significantly to the global supply chain.
The expo will pave the way for cooperation, innovation, and strategic partnerships. SEMI hoped to help accelerate the next phase of development for the semiconductor industry in Vietnam and Southeast Asian, Tan added.
According to SEMI, Vietnam is becoming a promising destination for the industry. The country’s semiconductor market value is expected to reach $7.01 billion in 2028, with a CAGR (compound annual growth rate) of 6.69% in 2023-2028.
To seize new opportunities in this field, the government established in August the National Steering Committee on Semiconductor Development, headed by Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh.
To materialize the country’s ambitions, PM Chinh last month signed a national semiconductor development strategy until 2030, with vision until 2050.
Deputy Prime Minister Le Thanh Long has issued a program on developing the semiconductor workforce in the same period.
