Luxshare-ICT (Nghe An) Limited, a subsidiary of major Chinese electronics producer Luxshare-ICT, is looking to recruit 1,500 people a month for the second phase of its project in Nghe An province.

The company has sought support for its recruitment drive from authorities in the central province.

The new workers will participate in the manufacturing of charging cables, cables, earphones and circuit boards, the company said, but it did not share the workforce qualifications required.

Under a decision taken by the firm last year, the second phase will triple the project’s capacity. Construction of facilities to carry out phase 2 has already been completed at the VSIP Nghe An Industrial Park.

Some production lines are set to become operational in May, the company said.

In a document issued last week, the Nghe An People’s Committee asked the provincial labor department, universities and colleges to cooperate with the firm.

Luxshare-ICT began its Nghe An investments in 2019. It has so far invested $290 million in two projects, both in VSIP Nghe An. The latest investment of $150 million in Luxshare-ICT (Nghe An) 2 is set to become fully operational later this year.

The firm is set to invest an additional $140 million in the central province. According to a draft environmental impact assessment report prepared by the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, the new investment will cover 15.25 hectares at the VSIP Nghe An Industrial Park. The $140-million expansion will be carried out over six months and create 48,000 jobs.

The project’s annual capacity will include 150 million cable, connection and computer peripheral devices; 272 million electronics items; 30 million smartwatches; 15 million touch pens; 98 million home electronics appliances; 55 million communication equipment items; and 220 million blood glucose meters.

Luxshare-ICT is also a major investor in the northern province of Bac Giang. In November 2023, its subsidiary Luxshare-ICT (Vietnam) Limited received approval to raise registered capital in its Bac Giang project by $330 million, increasing the total investment to $504 million.
