Bamboo Capital Group chairman passes away
Kou Kok Yiow (Chris), chairman of the board of directors of Bamboo Capital Group (BCG), passed away at the age of 63, due to a heart attack, according to a corporate release on Monday.

He had been with Bamboo Capital, listed on the Ho Chi Minh City Stock Exchange as BCG, since its inception and held the positions of advisor and member of the board of supervisors. On April 27, 2024, he was elected board chairman.
The funeral was held in Singapore.
In the release, Bamboo Capital expressed its gratitude for the contributions and values that the late chairman had brought to the Vietnamese group.
Kou Kok Yiow replaced Nguyen Ho Nam as chairman. Nam then said he resigned to move to the position of chairman of the group's strategy board. Nam also held the position of vice chairman of Eximbank.
The company recently announced a decision of the board of directors on personnel changes. Accordingly, Nguyen Tung Lam resigned from the position of general director and legal representative to "focus on performing new tasks".
Bamboo Capital involves real estate development, construction, infrastructure, renewable energy, and insurance, with over 60 subsidiaries and affiliates.
The group earned profit after tax of VND844.8 billion ($33.68 million) on consolidated net revenue of VND4,372 billion ($174.32 million) in 2024, up 393.8% and 9% year-on-year, respectively.
BCG closed Monday at VND3,920 ($0.15) a share.
