Amidst the modern landscape of WHA Industrial Zone 1 - Nghe An, a different kind of construction took place on Wednesday. Under the inspiring theme “Plant Today – Shape Tomorrow,” WHA Group hosted its annual Tree Planting 2026 initiative, proving that industrial progress and environmental harmony can thrive side-by-side.

The event wasn't just a ceremony; it was a physical manifestation of WHA’s "Smart Eco" philosophy, bringing together government leaders, global investors, and local communities to breathe life into the region’s greenest industrial hub.

The road to 500,000: A vision taking root

As the morning mist cleared over phase 2 of the industrial zone, Anchalee Prasertchand, vice president of international customer development at WHA Industrial Development, shared a vision that transcends standard corporate responsibility.

“At WHA, we don’t just build zones; we nurture ecosystems,” Prasertchand remarked. “Our goal is bold: to have 500,000 trees standing tall across our Vietnam projects by 2030. Today, as we celebrate our 150,000th tree taking root, we aren't just improving air quality - we are building a legacy of Net Zero emissions for the next generation.”

A green coalition of global leaders

The sound of shovels hitting the earth echoed a shared commitment among a diverse group of stakeholders. This year's planting ceremony was distinguished by the active participation of high-level dignitaries, including Nguyen Manh Loi, deputy director of the Dong Nam Economic Zone Authority, alongside local leaders Dinh Hong Vinh, Party Secretary of Trung Loc commune, and Nguyen Thanh Hai, Chairman of Than Linh commune.

Joining them were leaders from a wide array of global FDI giants and local partners who moved from the boardroom to the field to personally plant symbolic trees.

Participating companies included Fu Wing Interconnect Technology (Nghe An) - Foxconn, Sunny Automotive Quang Hoc Vietnam, Long Hao Trading, Koyu Textile Vietnam, Alltop Industrial, Xin Bao Science and Technology, ALS Vietnam Services, Tan Viet Metal Science and Technology, SB (Nghe An), Prussia Metal Vietnam, and Topgoal Vietnam Electronics. Together, these partners planted trees that will grow to provide shade, reduce carbon, and support local biodiversity for decades to come.

WHA tree planting 2026: By the numbers

The 2026 initiative represents a major leap forward in WHA’s sustainability journey, with over 150,000 trees now successfully planted across WHA Vietnam projects. This progress brings the company closer to its ambitious target of 500,000 trees by the year 2030.

With these 11 prominent industrial partners joining this year’s effort, the initiative stands as a cornerstone of WHA’s environmental strategy, paving a clear and steady path toward the ultimate destination of Net Zero emissions.

Sowing shared success

WHA’s Tree Planting 2026 reflects a deep-seated belief that every tree planted is an investment in shared success. By transforming industrial spaces into vibrant green corridors, WHA is setting a new international standard for what a "Smart Eco-Industrial Zone" looks and feels like.

As the seedlings planted today grow into a lush canopy, they will stand as a living testament to WHA's promise that in Nghe An, they are planting today to shape a brighter, greener tomorrow.
