Bidding open for $61 mln waste-to-power plant in central Vietnam
The central province of Binh Dinh will receive bids for a waste-to-power plant worth at least VND1.5 trillion ($61 million) until early morning of March 18.
According to an announcement by Binh Dinh’s Department of Planning and Investment, the Long My waste-to-power plant will be located in the Long My solid waste processing area in Quy Nhon town, covering 100.4 hectares.

The 30-year project will have a daily processing capacity of 500 tons of solid waste and its power generation will fit the national power development plan PDP VIII.
The facility will primarily serve Quy Nhon town, An Nhon townlet in Tuy Phuoc district and Canh Vinh townlet in Van Canh district.
Binh Dinh has set a maximum price of VND430,000 ($17.64) for processing one ton of waste, including value-added tax (VAT) and other fees for handling residues such as ash. The fee will remain unchanged for the first three years of operation, then increase biennially in line with inflation.
Investors are required to complete the project within 24 months from the date of approval.
The province does not have a waste processing factory at present.
