Binh Duong vice chairman disciplined over Covid violations
Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh has taken disciplinary action against Mai Hung Dung, standing vice chairman of Binh Duong People's Committee, for violations related to the province's fight against Covid-19.
The People's Committee of the southern province and a number of organizations and individuals, including Dung, were found to have violated Party regulations and State laws during bidding and the purchase of biological products, chemicals and medical supplies for pandemic prevention and control.
Dung was found to have committed violations and the Central Inspection Commission enforced Party discipliniary action against him on December 9, 2022.
The commission concluded that the authorities and people of Binh Duong had made great efforts to control the Covid-19 pandemic, contributing to recovering, stabilizing and developing the country's socio-economic situation.
However, Binh Duong's Party leaders violated working regulations and showed a lack of responsibility, allowing the People's Committee and a number of organizations and individuals violate Party regulations and State laws in the bidding and purchase of biological products, chemicals and medical supplies for pandemic prevention and control.
"The above violations and shortcomings have the potential to cause great damage to the State budget and affect the reputations of Party units and local authorities."
