Also on Thursday, PM Pham Minh Chinh issued a warning to Doan Tan Buu, vice chairman of Dong Thap province.
In early November, the Central Inspection Committee reprimanded the Party Committee of Dong Thap People's Committee for the term 2021-2026.
It also reprimanded Pham Thien Nghia, deputy secretary of the provincial Party Committee, chairman of the People's Committee, and head of the provincial Steering Committee for Epidemic Prevention and Control; and Ngo Hong Chieu, former director of Dong Thap's Department of Finance.
The committe also issued warnings to Doan Tan Buu, vice chairman of the provincial People's Committee, and Nguyen Lam Thai Thuan, director of the Department of Health.
According to the inspection committee, the Party Committee of Dong Thap People's Committee violated the working regulations, lacked responsibility, and showed loose direction in the anti-Covid-19 fight.
As a result, the provincial People's Committee and a number of organizations and individuals violated rules in bidding, procurement of materials and biological products for testing in service of epidemic prevention and control in a scam that occurred at the provincial Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
The above violations risked great damage to the state budget and angered the public.
