Can Tho vice chairman receives reprimand
The Prime Minister on Wednesday reprimanded Nguyen Van Hong, Vice Chairman of Can Tho and former Director of the city’s Planning and Investment Department, for work related violations.
The decision was made four months after Hong was disciplined by the Central Inspection Committee for violations and shortcomings in his work.

The Prime Minister also warned Le Van Tam, former Vice Chairman of Can Tho in the 2016-2021 term. Previously, on Monday, the Prime Minister warned Vo Thanh Thong, Deputy Minister of Planning and Investment and former Chairman of the Mekong Delta city, of work related violations.
In January, Central Inspection Committee concluded that the Party leaders of Can Tho People’s Committee had violated the Party's principles and regulations as well as working regulations, lacked responsibility, and showed loose leadership, giving rise to the city People's Committee and several organizations and individuals violating the Party's regulations and the State's laws in the procurement of medical equipment and medicines and in the implementation of hospital upgrading projects.
Many cadres and Party members in the city were disciplined. Some were penalized as criminals.
Also on Wednesday, Nguyen Ngoc Tu, Deputy Director of Phu Yen province’s Department of Construction, was disciplined for violations in his work, according to an announcement by Inspection Committee of Phu Yen Party Committee.
Tu, as Tuy Hoa town’s Vice Chairman, lacked inspection and let lower-level authorities sign real estate documents in contravention of state regulations. He later withdrew the documents and remedied the consequences.
Wednesday also saw the Executive Board of Da Nang Party Committee propose to discipline Le Minh Trung, Standing Vice Chairman of Da Nang People’s Council for “having an illicit relationship”.
Trung is said to have violated the regulations on Party members' conduct. His violations “are serious, affecting the reputation of Party organizations and agencies where he works to the point of having to be disciplined”.
On April 26, a woman working at a high school in Da Nang posted a Facebook photo taken with Trung, who has a family. This person wrote that she had a child with him.
Da Nang Party Committee then directed relevant authorities to clarify the case.
