Central Vietnam city Danang seeks investors for $69.3 mln semiconductor chip lab
Danang city is seeking investors for a VND1.8 trillion ($69.29 million) project to establish a laboratory dedicated to advanced chip packaging technology.

Proposed by VSAP LAB Joint Stock Company, the project will span over 2,200 square meters within Da Nang Software Park No. 2 in Hai Chau district. The facility is planned to include four above-ground floors and a rooftop structure.
The laboratory will serve as a hub for scientific research and technological development in the fields of chip technology and artificial intelligence (AI).
It will also support the R&D of high-tech electrical and electronic products, while offering technical services such as installation, maintenance, consulting, training, and product-specific engineering solutions. The lab is designed to have an annual capacity of up to 10 million units.
Scheduled to commence in Q2/2025 and complete by Q4/2026, the project will operate for 50 years from the date of investment approval.
Importantly, the investment policy and investor approval will be granted without a land-use right auction or competitive investor selection process. Applications will be accepted from May 10 to May 24.
According to Ho Ky Minh, standing Vice Chairman of the municipal People’s Committee, the city is striving to become a national high-tech hub with a strategic focus on semiconductors and AI.
Danang is actively advancing digital transformation and promoting AI applications across key sectors including healthcare, education, tourism, logistics, public administration, and smart city development.
To support this vision, the city has prepared ready-to-use land, modern infrastructure, and a skilled workforce, while continuing to refine its regulatory and policy frameworks to attract both domestic and international investment. These efforts aim to foster a vibrant, modern, and sustainable tech ecosystem.
"The city government is committed to providing the most favorable conditions for organizations, businesses, and researchers to collaboratively develop a sustainable and comprehensive AI ecosystem," Minh emphasized.
