China’s Goertek to double UAV production in Vietnam to 60,000 units
Chinese electronics giant Goertek will double its unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) production in Vietnam to 60,000 units a year, according to a recent project report.
Goertek Technology Vina Company Limited, a subsidiary of Goertek in Vietnam’s northern province of Bac Ninh, is seeking Vietnamese authorities' permission for the move, as part of its $565.7 million investment there.

Goertek started manufacturing UAV, under Wing 7000 W-B Block 2 brand, from June 2023 with an annual capacity of 30,000 units.
According to the project report, it aims to add four production lines to manufacture 30,000 UAVs under Wing/7000 WB MP3 brand, raising the total output of UAVs to 60,000 units.
Goertek also seeks to add 31,000 UAV components, including chargers, battery controllers, map readers, controllers, and stabilizing devices, to its output.
Overall, the project is set to reach an annual capacity of 1.1 billion items, including headphones, virtual reality (VR) headsets, augmented reality (AR) sets, loudspeakers, cameras, flying cameras (drones-flycam), printed circuit board assembly (PCBA), chargers, smart locks, and gaming console components.
The project is set to employ 60,470 people for all productions, including 3,640 in the section A which is designated for UAV production.
Goertek Technology Vina has been investing in Bac Ninh province since January 2019 and received its latest investment registration certificate, the 15th adjustment, in November 2024.
Wing is a drone company under Alphabet, the parent company of Google. It started as a project of Google X and developed into a company in 2018.
