China’s LONGi delivers rooftop solar installations for Vietnam garment firm
China-headquartered energy solutions provider LONGi and Hanoi-based Solar Electric Vietnam JSC (SEV) have delivered a rooftop solar photovoltaic (PV) project to Tan De Company, one of Vietnam's largest garment manufacturers and exporters.
The project involved the installation of 11 MWp of solar PV rooftop systems across nine factories, utilizing modules equipped with anti-dust technology to maximize energy output, LONGi said in a statement.
The system is expected to generate 12,603 MWh annually and reduce 8,527 tons of CO2 emissions annually, aligning Tan De Co. with international green manufacturing standards.
Duong Vu, deputy head of SEV's technical department, emphasized the robustness of the installation, stating that despite the devastating Yagi typhoon that hit northern Vietnam, all nine systems remained safe and stable.
This project advances the country's renewable energy goals and showcases the role of sustainable practices in the textile and manufacturing industries, Duong added.
Hanoi-headquartered Tan De Co., with over 17,000 employees, currently has nine factories in two northern provinces, including eight in Thai Binh and one in Hung Yen.
LONGi and SEV, a leading engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) contractor with extensive commercial and industrial PV experience, have jointly carried out several PV projects in Vietnam. They include a 9.52kWp solar system at the United Nations International School of Hanoi (UNIS Hanoi) and a 1,224kWp installation at Crystal International Group in Hanoi.
In 2020, LONGi supplied 70MW modules to two floating solar projects in Quang Thanh commune, Chau Duc district, southern province of Ba Ria-Vung Tau. The firm claimed that the 35-MWp Ho Tam Bo floating solar power plant and the 35-MWp Ho Gia Hoet 1 floating PV plant together form the largest floating PV cluster in Southeast Asia.
Established in 2000 and headquarters in Xi’an (China), LONGi manufactures high-efficiency mono-crystalline solar cells and modules. It has branches in Japan, Europe, North America, India, and Malaysia.
