Chinese chipmaker Victory Giant Technology to invest $800 mln in northern Vietnam
Victory Giant Technology Group, a major China-based printed circuit board (PCB) manufacturer, will acquire 10 hectares in Bac Ninh province to implement an $800 million investment in northern Vietnam.
The firm and VSIP Bac Ninh 2 Industrial Park signed an agreement for the move on Tuesday as part of Bac Ninh Vice Chairman Vuong Quoc Tuan’s China visit. Tuan’s trip also featured a site visit to Victory Giant Technology Group’s factory in Guangdong province.
The Chinese firm plans to deploy the project as soon as the land is delivered, and intends to initiate operations from mid-2025.
The deal is the next stage of Victory Giant Technology’s investment in Bac Ninh. In August 2023, at a meeting with Nguyen Anh Tuan, chief of Bac Ninh's Party Committee, the firm noted its plan to invest $400 million in the province.
VSIP Bac Ninh 2, folowing the Vietnam-Singapore Industrial Park (VSIP) model, covers 273 hectares in Yen Phong district. The project, approved in 2019, is now at the site clearance stage.
Bac Ninh, an industrial hub in northern Vietnam, is home to major foreign semiconductor and electronics firms, including Samsung and Amkor.
