The company received approval from the Vietnam Exchange (VNX) to join the carbon trading system and is among the first six brokerages authorized by the Vietnam Securities Depository and Clearing Corporation (VSDC) to provide custody and settlement services for carbon trading.

"The carbon market is not merely a new trading platform but an important component of Vietnam's emerging green finance ecosystem," CEO Nguyen Ngoc Linh said in a statement.

"Participating from the outset allows DNSE to build expertise in a sector with significant growth potential while supporting businesses in their green transition and sustainable development."

Vietnam's carbon market allows companies to trade emissions allowances and carbon credits to help meet emissions reduction targets. Companies that exceed their emissions quotas can purchase additional allowances, while those generating certified emissions reductions can sell carbon credits to generate additional revenue.

The launch of the market is expected to encourage investment in clean technologies, improve emissions reduction efficiency and further develop Vietnam's green finance ecosystem, while enhancing the country's appeal to international investors.

The outlook has been strengthened by expectations that FTSE Russell will upgrade Vietnam to secondary emerging market status in September 2026, as global institutional investors increasingly incorporate environmental, social and governance (ESG) criteria into their investment decisions.

DNSE said its early participation in the carbon market would also enable it to expand services for corporate clients, including carbon trading, financial advisory, capital raising, investment banking and other sustainable finance solutions.

The brokerage said joining the market at an early stage reflects its strategy of supporting businesses in their green transition while laying the groundwork for future sustainable finance services.
