The floating LPG terminal of PV Gas, a member of state-owned giant Petrovietam, officially came into operation in July 2021 at the Diem Dien anchorage area, Hung Yen province (formerly Thai Binh), marking a strategic milestone in the company's reinforcing its number one position in northern Vietnam's LPG supply market.

This is the first floating LPG (liquefied petroleum gas) terminal in the region, directly managed and operated by the PV Gas branch in Hai Phong city (PV Gas Hai Phong).

In the early days of taking over the terminal, the operation team faced numerous challenges. The Covid-19 pandemic was at its peak, with widespread lockdowns disrupting supply chains and drastically reducing energy demand. Working conditions aboard the floating terminal were also far from easy: rough seas, unpredictable weather, and stringent technical requirements for every stage of the operation.

Upholding the spirit of “double challenges – triple efforts”, the dedicated team of engineers and workers at PV Gas Hai Phong remained on task day and night, ensuring all processes were carried out with absolute safety. To them, the terminal is not only a new facility - it is a "second home", where every drop of sweat and every sleepless night serves one common goal: to ensure a stable and timely LPG supply for the northern market.

They have endured night shifts during high waves, tackled urgent incidents under intense pressure, and overcome every obstacle with professionalism, experience, and a profound sense of responsibility.

Now, more than four years into operation, the floating terminal stands as a clear testament to PV Gas leadership’s strategic vision and unwavering commitment to sustainable development.

It has significantly shortened delivery times, secured supply even in extreme weather conditions, and underscored the company’s determination to successfully implement an integrated business model and multimodal transport strategy.

With its strategic location, and safe and efficient operations, the floating terminal has become a critical link in the LPG supply chain in northern Vietnam, contributing to the reliable provision of energy for both industrial production and daily life in the region.

More than just a modern infrastructure project, it symbolizes PV Gas’s spirit of innovation, proactiveness, and bold action - a reflection of the resilience, dedication, and responsibility of the people who safeguard this vital energy lifeline day and night.

Looking ahead, PV Gas will continue optimizing operations, expanding intake capacity, diversifying transportation methods, and striving toward its goal of becoming a pioneer in green energy solutions, especially in northern Vietnam.
