Former Vietnam Airlines official appointed Bamboo Airways general director

Bamboo Airways has appointed Nguyen Minh Hai its general director from Wednesday this week, after approving Nguyen Manh Quan's resignation.

Hai holds a bachelor's degree from the Hanoi-based National Economics University, majoring in tourism business management.

He has 25 years of experience in the aviation industry, having held many important positions in national flag carrier Vietnam Airlines and its member companies like deputy general director of Vietnam Airlines and general director of Cambodia Angkor Air.

Previously, Nguyen Manh Quan had submitted to the carrier's board of directors his resignation letter as general director. Quan held the position since July 2022.

Previously, he had been deputy general director since July 2020 and permanent deputy general director since September 2020.

The appointment is part of Bamboo Airways' restructuring process, especially in governance-management, with an aim to expand its market and develop sustainably.

The medium-term goal determined by Bamboo Airways from 2023 is to strengthen its international flight network and raise service standards, thereby turning itself into an airline brand of Asia and the world.

At Bamboo Airways' extraordinary shareholder meeting on April 10, the plan to increase its charter capital was denied by a 56.42% majority.
