Hai Phong to build $98 mln conference center
Hai Phong city in northern Vietnam started the construction of a performance and conference center on Saturday in Thuy Nguyen district, with a total investment of more than VND2.3 trillion ($98 million).

The center, located in the Northern Cam River urban area, will cover nearly 50,000 square meters and be 36.5 meters high, with three floors, one basement and 1,500 seats. The total area allocated for the project is 12.39 hectares.
The center is expected to open in 2025, with a design life of over 100 years. In addition to organizing conferences, the center will host art shows on an international and national scale.
The project is being invested by the Hai Phong civil construction investment and urban development project management board, using the city budget.
Nguyen Van Tung, Chairman of Hai Phong's People's Committee, said the center will become a valuable architectural work, contributing to synchronizing the landscape of the new urban area north of the Cam River in a modern direction.
Hai Phong currently has a conference center on Hoang Dieu street that opened in 2009, with a meeting room offering 500 seats, along with four smaller rooms with 25 to 150 seats.
