Hanoi Tax Department appoints new director

Vu Manh Cuong, former director of the tax examination and inspection agency under the General Department of Taxation, has taken over as head of the Hanoi Tax Department.

Vu Manh Cuong, 47, who took charge of his new position Wednesday, is a Hai Duong province native with a masters in business administration from the University of Finance and Accountancy.

He had assumed charge of the tax examination and inspection agency under General Department of Taxation in 2020, with 14 years of tax industry experience behind him.

The leadership of the Hanoi Tax Department currently comprises director Vu Manh Cuong and four deputy directors - Nguyen Tien Truong, Nguyen Hong Thai, Nguyen Anh Dung and Nguyen Huu Hung.

Cuong’s predecessor Mai Son has been promoted as deputy general director of the General Department of Taxation.

In mid-February, Mai Xuan Thanh was appointed acting director of the General Department of Taxation under the Ministry of Finance.
