HCMC police arrest former newspaper editor-in-chief, successor
Ho Chi Minh City police's investigative agency has arrested Nguyen Cong Khe, former editor-in-chief of Thanh Nien newspaper and chairman of a namesake media group, on charges of mismanagement of state assets.

Police also raided Khe’s residence and workplace.
Nguyen Quang Thong, Khe’s successor, has also been detained pending a further investigation into the same charge.

The investigative agency found that both Khe and Thong had committed multiple wrongdoings during the implementation of a real estate complex in District 4, HCMC.
Khe, 70, held the top position at Thanh Nien (Young People) newspaper, under the umbrella of the Vietnam Youth Federation, between 1988 and 2009. He was succeeded by Thong until 2021. Thanh Nien is one of the top newspapers in Vietnam.
