After super typhoon Yagi hit Vietnam last Saturday, Pacific Textiles has suspended production at its factory in the northern province of Hai Duong for at least one month.

In a Wednesday filing with the Stock Exchange of Hong Kong, the company said that the suspension could cut production volume by approximately 2.2 million pounds (nearly 1,000 tons), and cause delivery delays.

In order to reduce losses and minimize the impacts on customers, the company has reallocated production orders to its factories in China's Guangdong province and Vietnam's Nam Dinh province.

It has also established a special task force to restore production in Hai Duong as soon as possible.

Pacific Textiles started investing in Hai Duong province in 2011 and has so far poured in more than $425 million. It launched its Nam Dinh factory in April 2024 and aims to put the facility to full scale production soon.
