Investment policy adjusted for $59 mln wind power project in central Vietnam
Quang Tri province authorities recently approved an adjustment to the investment policy for Hai Anh wind power plant project, with Hai Anh-Quang Tri Wind Power JSC as its investor.
The 40 MW project received in-principle approval from the provincial People's Committee in March 2021, and the adjustment this time was the fourth.

Accordingly, from November 2023 to April 2025, construction on infrastructure including that for turbines will be kicked off.
From April 2024 to May 2025, the investor will construct the foundation and install the pillars. From November 2024 to November 2025, commercial power generation will begin.
The project has a construction survey area of more than 20 hectares in Huong Phung and Tan Thanh communes and Lao Bao township of Huong Hoa district.
Its total investment is more than VND1,500 billion ($59 million), and construction commenced in December 2023.
The facility will supply the national power system with an average annual electricity output of about 120,000 MWh, generating a revenue of more than VND200 billion ($7.87 million) per year and contributing about VND40 billion ($1.57 million) to the local budget per year.
Huong Hoa district currently has 31 wind power projects approved by the Prime Minister, with total capacity of more than 1,177 MW. Of these, 19 projects with commercial power generation capacity of more than 671 MW have been completed and put into operation.
It is expected that when all of these 31 projects come into operation, Quang Tri will collect VND600 billion ($23.6 million) in budget revenue each year.
The province recently submitted to the Prime Minister and the Ministry of Industry and Trade a proposal to include 60 onshore wind power projects in the National Power Development Plan VIII, with total capacity of 4,600 MW; three offshore wind power projects with total capacity of 2,600 MW; 19 solar power projects with total capacity of 1,400 MW; more than 2,000 MW of pumped storage hydropower projects; and about 4,500 MW of gas-fired power projects.
