Northern Vietnam province to address traffic problem for Foxconn’s plant
Authorities in Vietnam’s northern province of Bac Ninh are working to resolve traffic congestion around the Quang Chau Industrial Park in response to concerns raised by Foxconn, a Taiwanese electronics giant and key supplier to Apple.
Recently, Foxconn voiced its concerns to the local government regarding chronic traffic jams near its facilities at Quang Chau Industrial Park.
The IP, originally located in Bac Giang province, now falls under the jurisdiction of the newly expanded Bac Ninh province after a recent administrative merger.

In response, Pham Van Thinh, Vice Chairman of the Bac Ninh People’s Committee, directed the Department of Construction to mull the installation of traffic lights, signage, and road markings at overpasses and entrances to the park.
The province is also considering banning construction trucks and container vehicles during peak hours, as well as prohibiting street vendors from operating within and around the industrial park.
To reduce the chaos caused by spontaneous stops, officials ordered the planning of designated pickup and drop-off points for employee shuttle buses.
In addition, the provincial Industrial Zones Authority has been asked to consider a proposal from Fukang Technology, a Foxconn subsidiary, to open two extra pedestrian gates that would connect directly to the park’s internal roads, aiming to reduce congestion at the main entrance.
To enhance traffic management and public order, provincial police have been instructed to increase officer presence during rush hours and expand the camera surveillance system, particularly at key underpasses.
Foxconn has been operating in Vietnam for over 17 years, employing approximately 94,000 workers. Bac Ninh, which neighbors Hung Yen, Lang Son, Quang Ninh, Thai Nguyen, Hai Phong, and Hanoi, is one of the company’s major manufacturing hubs.
In 2024, Fukang Technology reported a net revenue of NT$114.9 billion ($3.9 billion), according to its financial statements. Though net profit stood at just NT$82.5 million ($2.8 million), it marked a significant recovery from a net loss of NT$724.9 million in 2023.
