Q2 profit of Samsung’s 4 major Vietnam plants up 25.8%
Four major factories of Samsung Electronics in Vietnam posted a total profit of KRW1.71 trillion ($1.24 billion) in the second quarter of 2025, up 25.8% year-on-year.
This is a significant turnaround from the 39% decrease to KRW966 billion ($689.4 million) in Q1 profit, according to the South Korean conglomerate’s Q2 consolidated earnings statements.
Total revenue from the four factories ticked up 2.6% year-on-year to KRW20.55 trillion ($14.88 billion) in April-June and rose 3.2% to KRW43.37 trillion ($31.4 billion) in the first half of 2025.

Samsung’s four key factories in Vietnam include Samsung Electronics Vietnam Thai Nguyen (SEVT), Samsung Display Vietnam (SDV), Samsung Electronics Vietnam (SEV), and Samsung Electronics HCMC CE Complex (SEHC). In March, Samsung Vietnam appointed Na Ki Hong as its general director, succeeding Choi Joo Ho.
SEVT, headquartered in the northern province of Thai Nguyen, recorded a profit of KRW1.2 trillion ($869 million) on a revenue of KRW19.67 trillion ($14.25 billion) in H1, down 20.9% but up 6.4% year-on-year, respectively.
SEV, located in the northern province of Bac Ninh, posted a profit of KRW813 trillion ($588.7 million) on a revenue of KRW11.75 trillion ($8.5 billion), down 12.4% but up 7.3% year-on-year, respectively.
SDV, also in Bac Ninh province, saw its H1 revenue decline 13% to KRW7.93 trillion ($5.74 billion), while profit inched up 5.8% to KRW402 billion ($291 million).
SEHC in Ho Chi Minh City recorded KRW4.01 trillion ($2.9 billion) in revenue and KRW257 billion ($186 million) in profit, up 15.6% and 125.4% year-on-year, respectively.
Samsung has invested $23.2 billion in Vietnam, making it the largest foreign investor in the country. In 2024, Samsung Vietnam earned a revenue of $62.5 billion, including an export income of $54.4 billion. The number of Vietnamese vendors in the Samsung Vietnam ecosystem has reached 306.
In its recent expansion efforts, SDV pledged to invest $1.8 billion in Bac Ninh province to boost OLED display production for mobile phones, IT devices, and automobiles. The company received provincial approval to invest an additional $1.2 billion in January and was granted another investment certificate in May.
