Qualcomm, Bkav, Excelpoint Systems form AIoT applications alliance
Vietnamese tech group Bkav has forged a strategic collaboration with Singapore-based electronic components distributor Excelpoint Systems to commercialize an Artificial Intelligence of Things (AIoT) platform built on Qualcomm’s chipsets and technology ecosystem.
Nasdaq-listed technology innovator Qualcomm is also part of the alliance with Bkav's subsidiary Bkav Hardware Solution and Excelpoint to create a complete ecosystem for AIoT applications, Hanoi-based Bkav announced Friday.
The three-way partnership aims to work out a complete ecosystem for AI applications to help businesses create AI apps and final products.
Under the cooperation, Qualcomm will provide its chipsets, Excelpoint drive the business through its strong distribution networks, while Bkav Hardware Solution plays the role of a supplier of hardware, AIoT and AI platforms, including AI cameras, AI boxes, edge computing servers, among others.
AIoT is the combination of two powerful technologies, artificial intelligence (AI) technologies and the internet of things (IoT) infrastructure, where such AIoT devices and applications can analyze data and make decisions and act on that data without human involvement, enhancing efficiency and effectiveness.
In the near future, it is anticipated that AIoT integration within businesses and industries - like smart cities, smart homes, Industrial 4.0, smart retail chains, and autonomous vehicles - will ultimately lead to more sophisticated and valuable inter-business and cross-industry solutions.
According to a report by ResearchAndMarkets.com, the global AIoT market will reach $83.6 billion by 2027, growing at a 39.1% compounded growth rate per annum.
Bkav specializes in cyber security, software, e-government, smartphone manufacturing, smart electronic devices, smart city solutions, and AI cameras. This May, it launched Bkav Hardware Solution as a subsidiary providing services like research, development and production of electronic products, positioning the unit’s operations as an original design manufacturer, or ODM, a business model similar to Taiwanese tech giant Foxconn. The new unit’s strategy is to support domestic enterprises in the electronics industry.
Excelpoint is a distributor providing electronic components, engineering design services and supply chain management to original equipment manufacturers, ODMs and electronics manufacturing services in Asia.
