Vietnam’s central coastal province of Quang Nam has announced an investment drive for 233 projects in 2024-2025, including 57 prioritized ones.

A key project is the Chu Lai airport within the Chu Lai open economic zone, covering 835 hectares.

The project includes a new three-kilometer runway, a taxiway, an airport apron with 32-40 parking positions, a passenger terminal for 10 million passengers a year, and a cargo terminal for 1.5 million tons of cargoes a year.

Another major project is the 800-hectare Cua Lo maritime channel, which will accommodate ships of 50,000 tons and connect to the Tam Hoa non-tariff zone. The project needs dredging of the area to be completed, before construction of a port and the non-tariff zone.

The project is expected to boost the regional logistics sector, help with economic transformation, and increase the state revenue via taxes and fees by VND14.1 trillion ($553.6 million) a year in 2030, VND24.1 trillion a year in 2040, VND41.2 trillion a year in 2050.

For industrial real estate, Quang Nam’s list features the 655-hectare Nam Thang Binh industrial park in Thang Binh district, a 400-hectare industrial park to the west of Thang Binh district’s expressway, and a 400-hectare service-urban-industrial area in Dien Ban town.

For urban area development, Quang Nam is calling for investments in a number of large projects, including a 746-hectare project along Nguyen Tat Thanh road in Tam Ky town, a 223-hectare multi-function project in Hoa Huong ward, Tam Ky town, and the 195-hectare Chu Lai urban area in Nui Thanh district.

In tourism, Quang Nam plans to attract investments in the 700-hectare Trung Trung Bo-Nuoc Oa historical relic tourism area in Bac Tra My district, the 463-hectare Son Viet hot spring resort in Nong Son district, the 427-hectare Loc Yen-Lo Thung ancient village ecological area in Tien Phuoc district, and the 400-hectare Bang Am eco-tourism area in Dai Loc district.

Regarding the remaining 176 projects, 43 are in the industrial real estate and industrial production sectors, 40 in urban areas, 37 in tourism, 19 in agriculture, and 32 others.
