The Korean Greyhound Association (KGA) on Thursday put forward a proposal to build an international entertainment and sports complex in the beach town of Ha Long, Quang Ninh province.

The proposal was made by KGA chairman Park Gi-Beom while meeting with Cao Tuong Huy, deputy Party chief and Chairman of Quang Ninh during his visit to the locality.

According to Park Gi-Beom, the complex, expected to cover 300-350 hectares in the northern area of Ha Long town, will include amusement parks, tourist and commercial services areas, competition venues, training equipment and infrastructure, and entertainment equipment associated with dog racing.

It will also house high-class tourism and sports facilities such as hotels, water parks, ice skating areas and an ice hockey rink.

Park Gi-Beom expressed his hope that Quang Ninh province will create conditions for the association to carry out procedures for investment research, develop investment ideas, and accompany the KGA to create new, attractive tourism services and products.

Appreciating the proposal, Huy said Quang Ninh still lacks attractive and high-quality entertainment products and tourism services, so the proposal is feasible and consistent with the province’s goal of transforming its development model.

“Quang Ninh will create the most favorable conditions in terms of administrative procedures, land and site clearance, and ensure an open, favorable, equal and transparent business environment for businesses to do successful, sustainable and long-term business in the province,” he stressed.

Currently, 20 countries and territories are investing in the province with a total investment of nearly $14 billion, Huy added.

Quang Ninh is home to Ha Long Bay, a World Natural Heritage Site recognized twice by the UNESCO in 1994 and 2000.

The KGA boasts extensive experience in the field of investment, development, and provision of unique tourism and sports services in South Korea and a number of countries around the world.
