Samsung supplier UTI to invest $35 mln more in northern Vietnam
South Korea-headquartered UTI, Inc., a supplier of Samsung, will invest $35 million in Vietnam’s northern province of Vinh Phuc, an expansion from its previous investment in the neighboring province of Thai Nguyen.
According to the investment registration certificate granted to UTI in early December, the project will cover 1.2 hectares in the Thang Long Vinh Phuc Industrial Park.
It has an annual capacity of 30 million glass covers for mobile phones and tablets (iPads).

UTI, a tier-1 vendor of Samsung, plans to complete administrative procedures in February 2025, install equipment and recruit laborers in February-April 2025, enter trial production in April-May 2025, and then begin official production from June 2025.
It is set to employ 500 people, including 15 foreigners.
Prior to Vinh Phuc investment, UTI had established its subsidiary UTI Vina in Thai Nguyen province. This subsidiary has an annual output of 22 million glass covers for mobile phones and 7.8 million loudspeaker covers.
Vietnam’s total registered FDI hit $31.4 billion in the past 11 months, up 1% year-on-year, according to the Ministry of Planning and Investment. Vinh Phuc ranked 26th with $209.8 million.
