Sheraton Saigon guarantees festive cheer with Xmas, New Year offerings
Gourmet seafood, curated Cantonese delights, luxurious Christmas hampers, handcrafted culinary goodies and traditional takeaways are among Xmas and New Year treats awaiting patrons at the Sheraton Saigon Hotel & Towers.
Buffet extravaganza at Saigon Café
The Saigon Café has been a renowned seafood buffet destination for over 20 years. Live cooking stations serve Western cuisines as well as authentic Vietnamese and other Asian delicacies – from succulent roasts to many seafood delights.
The café will also serve brunches and dinners with a green salad bar, live pasta stations, the quintessential cheese board and cold cuts, carving stations with hearty roasts, sashimi and sushi, and an array of Christmas desserts like panettone, Christmas pudding yule logs and freshly baked Christmas cookies.
The highlights include dishes like foie gras and fresh premium seafood including lobster, king crab leg, abalone, flower crabs and oysters.
Christmas carols and other fun-filled activities will keep both kids and families entertained. The Wanderlust champagne buffets on Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and New Year’s Eve are bound to add memorable celebratory sparkle.
Takeaways for home parties
The hotel offers patrons the option of hosting warm gatherings at their homes with gourmet creations including a myriad of traditional holiday treats, savory specials, juicy roasted turkey, honey-glazed ham and roasted beef ribeye, colorful homemade cookies and artisanal chocolate pralines freshly prepared by its talented pastry team.
Cakes baked at Sheraton Saigon have been a favorite of more than two decades. For Christmas, “decadent artisanal yule logs with milk chocolate, light sponge and a creamy middle” promise a rich, indulgent treat. Delivery or takeaway orders are accepted at the Gingerbread House located at the hotel lobby from November 24 to December 25, 2023.
Xmas gift hampers
Luxurious hamper sets prepared by the hotel are a good way to spread yuletide cheer. Packaged in handcrafted gift boxes with unique Christmas motifs, the hampers are easy on the eye and a feast for the taste buds with festival treats like panettone, handcrafted cookies, chocolate Santa Claus, mixed festive cookies, gourmet teas, white chocolate pistachio chart and the option of wine bottles. Furthermore, the gift boxes can be reused to store knick-knacks at home.
Cantonese cuisine at Li Bai
The hotel’s Li Bai restaurant is a great place for Cantonese dishes including a dim sum brunch with “all-you-can-eat” Peking duck and more than 50 other dishes including steamed, baked, grilled, stir-fried or deep-fried dumplings. The dinner menu includes “exquisite à la carte plates” with Nha Trang lobster, foie gras and Hokkaido scallop, steamed scampi and abalone with asparagus prepared by skillful chefs with over 30 years of experience.
Afternoon tea, wine dinner, exotic cocktails
The hotel enhances the festive mood with an elegant Christmas-themed afternoon tea and during the entirety of December. Its patisserie has Mont Blanc, dark chocolate, mince pies, Christmas macaroons and other treats. Delicate finger sandwiches with tantalizing flavors like truffle burrata, Nha Trang lobster cocktail, soulard foie gras torchon and roast angus beef can be followed with a choice of coconut scones, cranberry scones with condiments and the Christmas yule log. Located at the hotel grand lobby, The Lounge offers an ideal break from the hustle and bustle of Christmas shopping and sightseeing.
2024 countdown party
For the countdown to the New Year, the “20 years of glory” hotel in downtown Saigo (88 Dong Khoi street) offers a “grandiose party of flair” with Asian-Western fusion gastronomy, live band, cocktail, wine and beer at the lobby atrium, not to mention the dropping ball that guarantees a memorable ushering in of 2024.
