Six people including four children were found dead Sunday at a house in Binh Duong province, southern Vietnam.

At around 12 p.m, Nguyen Hoai Han, a 39-year-old man, phoned his friend Ly Quoc Phap, but the latter did not answer. Han then went to Phap’s house, which doubles as a hairdresser’s shop, but no one answered the door call.

Han broke into the house and found Phap and his wife lying motionless in the bathroom, local media reported.

In the bedroom, he found the couple’s two sons – two and seven years old, their 15-year-old daughter and a 15-year-old boy. All were dead.

The husband was a mechanic and his wife was a hairdresser and a small trader.

According to local residents, electricity had gone out since Saturday afternoon in the area.

The police suspect that carbon monoxide emissions from a power generator found at the end of the house could have asphyxiated the people.

In another deadly accident Saturday, two children died of smoke inhalation in a burning house in Binh Chanh district, Ho Chi Minh City.

Local residents broke into the burning house and saved four children. Two brothers, one and 10 years old, were found dead.

According to police, the six children are cousins. The fire broke out after the owner had gone out, locking the door, leaving the children inside.
