Thailand’s WHA plans to build 1,200 hectare industrial park in southern Vietnam
Thailand's WHA Industrial Development plans to build a smart and eco-friendly industrial park in Vietnam’s southern province of Ba Ria-Vung Tau, covering 1,200 hectares.
WHA chairperson and CEO Jareeporn Jarukornsakul made the proposal at a Friday meeting with Ba Ria-Vung Tau Chairman Nguyen Van Tho. The firm is looking for investment opportunities within the Chau Duc service-urban-industrial complex, Chau Duc district.

WHA strives to invest $1 billion in building smart and eco-friendly industrial parks in the next five years, in order to attract investments of $5 billion into such facilities, the executive emphasized.
In reply, Tho said the province is calling for industrial park investments in Chau Duc district, adding that the province would facilitate all domestic and foreign investors in the project.
WHA, which entered Vietnam in 2017, has one operational facility – WHA Industrial Park in the central province of Nghe An. The industrial park has attracted two major investments from Foxconn and Sunny Optical, covering 40 hectares and 56 hectares, respectively. The Thai firm is also planning to make investments in the neighboring province of Thanh Hoa.
