Vietnam Education Publishing House provides 366,000 textbooks for students in central Vietnam flood-affected areas
The Vietnam Education Publishing House (VEPH) has delivered 366,000 textbooks worth VND5.3 billion ($201,000) to students in Dak Lak, one of the provinces hit hardest by the historic floods that swept through central Vietnam in November.
Dak Lak province was formed by the merger of the former Dak Lak and Phu Yen provinces in July.

The donation, which took place last Thursday at the Center for Vocational Education - Continuing Education in Binh Kien ward, aimed to help students and the education sector of Dak Lak province quickly overcome the flood consequences.
As part of the program, Da Nang Education Investment and Development JCS and Hanoi Education Investment and Development JSC - two member units of the VEPH - provided 17,093 English textbooks worth more than VND771 million ($29,247).

Speaking at the event, Dang Thanh Hai, deputy general director of the VEPH, said that in recent times, unusual weather patterns have caused prolonged heavy rainfall, landslides, severe flooding, and waterlogging in the south-central and Central Highlands regions, including Dak Lak province.
The floods not only caused serious damage to the infrastructure of many schools but also left hundreds of thousands of students without books and learning supplies, greatly affecting their study and daily life, he noted.
According to Hai, in response to these difficulties, the VEPH quickly developed a plan to donate books to support students and teachers in the region. This donation is not only a material contribution but also reflects the spirit of solidarity and the responsibility of the entity toward the education sector and students.
“We hope the students will soon regain stability and continue their study better," he stated.
On behalf of the provincial education sector, Vo Thi Minh Duyen, deputy director of the provincial Department of Education and Training, expressed sincere thanks to the sponsors and affirmed that this meaningful and timely support will help students quickly stabilize their learning after the recent disasters.

Alongside Dak Lak province, the VEPH is also urgently providing assistance to the provinces of Khanh Hoa, Lam Dong, Quang Ngai, and Gia Lai, and several other flood-affected localities, ensuring that no student lacks textbooks and helping them resume their study as soon as possible.
Earlier, the VEPH had pledged up to VND20 billion ($758,292) this year to provide textbooks for students in the areas stricken by typhoons, floods, and poor economic conditions.
Since the beginning of 2025, the publisher has allocated about VND5 billion ($189,570) for social and charitable activities, including donating more than 117,000 textbooks to students in flooded regions.
