Typhoon Kalmaegi is the 13th storm to hit Vietnam this year. According to a VEPH representative, previous storms - Nos. 3, 10, 11, and 12 - caused severe damage to school facilities, particularly in mountainous and coastal areas.
As typhoon Kalmaegi continues to affect the country, VEPH reaffirmed its motto: “For our beloved students – leaving no one behind.” The publisher is committed to standing alongside teachers and students in disaster-stricken regions.

Since the beginning of the year, VEPH has allocated approximately VND4.3 billion ($163,436) to social and charitable activities. During recent storms and floods alone, nearly 200,000 copies of textbooks and VND3.5 billion in cash have been delivered to students and schools in affected provinces such as Dien Bien, Lai Chau, Nghe An, Son La, Lao Cai, Bac Ninh, Cao Bang, Thanh Hoa, Hue and Danang.
VEPH announced that it has promptly activated emergency support measures for areas severely impacted by typhoon Kalmaegi, prioritizing the timely provision of textbooks to help schools resume teaching and learning as soon as possible.
The publisher has also committed up to VND20 billion ($760,168) in 2025 to programs supplying textbooks to typhoon- and flood-affected regions, as well as to areas facing particularly difficult conditions.
