Da Lat is the most searched domestic destination by Vietnamese travelers for the Liberation Day-May Day holiday, followed by Danang and Nha Trang, as people seek respite from scorching temperatures, says Booking.com.

Public employees and workers in Vietnam will enjoy a five-day break to celebrate the National Reunification and May Day holidays from April 27 (Saturday) to May 1 (Wednesday) per a decision signed by Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh.

Booking.com, one of the world’s leading digital travel companies, says that as temperatures continue to rise, 75% of Vietnamese travelers are seeking cooler destinations.

This preference is reflected in a surge of interest in Da Lat, a town renowned for refreshing mountain air and cool weather all year round. Da Lat has topped the list as the most searched domestic destination by Vietnamese travelers for this holiday, according to Booking.com Travel Predictions 2024.

The next localities in the list are Danang, Nha Trang, Vung Tau, Ho Chi Minh City, Hoi An, Hue, Hanoi, Phan Thiet and Mui Ne.

Booking.com says 82% of Vietnamese travelers agree that being close to water makes them feel more relaxed. Therefore, coastal localities have dominated the list of top 10 most searched domestic destinations for the upcoming holidays.

For coastal holidays, Danang, with its stunning beaches and vibrant nightlife takes the lead followed by Nha Trang, Vung Tau, Hoi An, Phan Thiet and Mui Ne.

Varun Grover, country head Vietnam at Booking.com said long weekends provide the perfect opportunity for Vietnamese travelers to unwind and escape daily routines with a refreshing getaway.

Research has revealed that 81% of Vietnamese travelers feel “more alive” when they are on vacation.
