At a conference held in Ha Long, Quang Ninh province on January 16 to review the publisher’s 2024 performance and set goals for the year ahead, Thuong highlighted that the textbook set named "Connecting Knowledge with Life" had its price reduced by 9.6%, while "Creative Horizons" saw a reduction of 11.2%. These price reductions received widespread social support, he said.
Presenting the report at the event, VEPH chairman and general director Nguyen Tien Thanh said that despite numerous challenges in 2024, the publishing house, under the guidance of the Ministry of Education and Training, made significant efforts to fulfill its political mission.
This included providing textbooks for the 2024-2025 school year in a timely, sufficient, and synchronized manner to serve students and teachers nationwide, while also meeting its business objectives.
Thanh noted that VEPH successfully completed the compilation of new textbooks aligned with the 2018 General Education Program and led efforts to reduce textbook prices, contributing to social welfare.

The publisher also continued to collaborate with relevant authorities and localities to actively detect and prevent the sale of counterfeit and pirated books ahead of the new school year.
In addition, social initiatives such as donating books, educational equipment, scholarships, and establishing Vietnamese-language bookcases abroad were maintained, with a total value of VND31 billion (approximately $1.23 million).
Looking ahead to 2025, Thanh mentioned that VEPH would continue to fulfill its political responsibilities and meet assigned targets, while focusing on diversifying its products, developing digital offerings, and publishing high-quality reference books to cater to the growing demand for a learning society and contribute positively to the educational cause.
