Vietnam's Maritime Bank plans 20% stock dividend payout
Vietnam Maritime Commercial Joint Stock Bank (MSB) plans to issue up to 520 million shares as stock dividends, equivalent to 20% of its outstanding shares at the record date.
The move is part of a board resolution recently announced by the bank to implement its 2025 charter capital hike plan, as approved at its 2025 AGM in April.

Following the issuance, MSB’s charter capital is expected to rise by VND5.2 trillion to VND31.2 trillion ($1.19 billion).
The dividends will be funded from retained earnings and distributable profits, after setting aside regulatory reserves, based on the bank’s audited 2024 financial statements as of December 31.
The bank expects to complete the stock dividend distribution in Q4/2025, pending regulatory approval. A similar distribution was finalized in October last year.
The capital hike aims to strengthen the bank’s financial foundation, boost competitiveness, and meet international capital safety standards. The additional capital will allow MSB to expand its medium- and long-term credit capacity, invest in technology infrastructure, and effectively execute strategic plans, according to the bank.
MSB is maintaining steady growth within the banking system, backed by a clear strategy on digital transformation, sustainable development, and business agility aimed at boosting operational efficiency alongside risk management.
On the Ho Chi Minh Stock Exchange (HoSE), MSB shares closed Monday at VND12,500 ($0.48) apiece.
