Since joining conglomerate T&T Group, Vietravel Airlines, a member of travel service provider Vietravel Group, has undergone a rapid transformation, from leasing aircraft to owning three planes in just two months.

At its mid-year review conference last Thursday, Vietravel Airlines set a key target for the next six months: expanding its fleet to a minimum of 10 aircraft, focusing on the Airbus A321/A320 family for standardization.

The carrier plans to launch two new domestic routes - Ho Chi Minh City to Hai Phong city and HCMC to Thanh Hoa province - while resuming service between Hanoi and Nha Trang town (Khanh Hoa province). It will also begin charter flights connecting Hanoi and Anhui, China, starting October 2025.

The airline’s momentum has picked up significantly since being acquired by T&T Group. After nearly five years operating leased aircraft, Vietravel Airlines has quickly owned three planes and boosted its charter capital to VND2.6 trillion ($99.14 million).

These milestones reflect not just rapid progress but also the airline’s strong ambition and financial capacity, laying the groundwork for long-term positioning in Vietnam’s aviation market and across Southeast Asia, said its leadership.

In the first half of 2025, Vietravel Airlines operated 2,209 flights, served 400,000 passengers, achieved an average load factor of 88%, an on-time performance (OTP) rate of 87%, and maintained a good safety record.

Expanding operational scope and areas

Backed by T&T Group, Vietravel Airlines aims to grow far beyond 10 aircraft. The airline, chaired by Do Vinh Quang, targets a fleet of 30-50 aircraft by 2030, with routes spanning Southeast Asia, Northeast Asia, and the Middle East.

The airline is also preparing to enter the air cargo sector, tapping into growing demand driven by regional supply chain and logistics expansion post-pandemic.

In addition, T&T Group and Vietravel Airlines are planning to invest in auxiliary aviation services, including ground handling, warehousing, cargo operations, technical services, and aerospace industry support, thus strengthening competitiveness and contributing to a comprehensive aviation ecosystem that T&T Group is pursuing.

As a strategic shareholder, T&T Group is not only providing financial backing but also positioning Vietravel Airlines as a key pillar within its broader ecosystem, which includes airports, airport-urban-industrial logistics hubs, and integrated transport and logistics infrastructure.

T&T Group is a leading real estate developer in Vietnam, with major projects like T&T City Millennia in Tay Ninh province, T&T Victoria in Nghe An, Phuoc Tho Residential Area in Vinh Long, a new urban area in Ca Mau, and other large-scale developments in Hanoi, HCMC, Hai Phong, and beyond.
