Vingroup forms new company for humanoid robot production
Vietnam’s leading private conglomerate Vingroup (HoSE: VIC) will contribute capital to establish VinDynamics, a Hanoi-based firm focused on R&D and application of humanoid robots, with 51% ownership out of the VND500 billion ($18.94 million) in chartered capital.
Vingroup's board of directors has approved the capital contribution, the corporation stated in a release last Friday.

The new firm’s core business covers research, development, production, and technology transfer in humanoid robotics.
In its latest annual report, Vingroup said it will step up investment in technology and industry, with a particular focus on developing multifunctional robots under the “Made in Vietnam” brand.
In late 2024, Vingroup set up Robotics Research Development and Application JSC, or VinRobotics, which has a charter capital of VND1 trillion ($37.88 million), with Vingroup holding a 51% stake, its chairman Pham Nhat Vuong 39%, and Vuong’s two sons 5% each.
VinRobotics is meant to help elevate manufacturing efficiency and optimize industrial, service, and life processes, Vingroup said.
It focuses on R&D and transfer of advanced technologies, particularly automation, industrial robots, and artificial intelligence (AI).
In early 2025, Vingroup established VinMotion, a company specializing in R&D and application of multifunctional robots. VinMotion has a charter capital of VND1 trillion ($37.88 million), with Vingroup holding a 51% stake. The remaining 49% is owned by chairman Vuong and his two sons.
The two entities operate in parallel but serve different roles within the robotics ecosystem Vingroup is building.
In August, Party chief To Lam and Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh watched the performance of humanoid robots VinMotion. The performance took place at the groundbreaking and inauguration ceremony for 250 key projects to celebrate the 80th anniversary of Vietnam's August Revolution and the National Day (September 2, 1945-2025) in Dong Anh ward, Hanoi.
The robots are capable of performing basic operations such as walking, waving, and interacting with gestures, demonstrating great potential for application in production lines, services, and life.
In the first phase, the robots will be deployed in the factories of VinFast, an electric vehicle arm of Vingroup, to support works like transportation of components and quality inspection.
In the medium and long term, the company aims to develop intelligent robots capable of communicating and processing images and languages and for application in the fields of logistics, healthcare, education, customer service, and even personal care at home.
