Vietnam’s Vingroup establishes robotics firms, with co-founder’s 2 sons as major shareholders
Vingroup, Vietnam’s largest private conglomerate by ecosystem, has set up a robotics unit as it moves to ramp up its industrial-high technology ecosystem.
Robotics Research Development and Application JSC, or VinRobotics, has a charter capital of VND1 trillion ($39.35 million), with Vingroup holding a 51% stake, its co-founder Pham Nhat Vuong 39%, and Vuong’s two sons 5% each.

VinRobotics is meant to help elevate manufacturing efficiency and optimize industrial, service, and life processes, Vingroup said in a statement on Wednesday. Ngo Quoc Hung will be its CEO, said the group without giving more information on Hung.
VinRobotics will focus on R&D and transfer of advanced technologies, particularly automation, industrial robots, and artificial intelligence (AI), said the statement. It will manufacture and integrate robots for optimization solutions.
Its clients will be not only companies of the Vingroup ecosystem but also businesses in other economic and industrial sectors, in Vietnam and the region, the group said.
Vingroup stated that VinRobotics will help complete the industrials-technology ecosystem, one of the group’s three pillars, besides real estate & services and social enterprise.
It boasts that Vingroup is a leader in Vietnam in the automotive industry with its VinFast brand, and smart technologies, including AI and big data with brands like VinBigdata, VinAI, and VinBrain.
Since the start of this year, Vingroup has established several businesses to enlarge its industrials-technology ecosystem. They include charging station developer V-GREEN, electric vehicle trading and renting firm For Green Future (FGF) JSC, and VinDT JSC – the first provider of EV driver training and testing services in Vietnam.
Earlier this month, VinFast said it will receive financial aid of VND85 trillion ($3.36 billion) from Vingroup and Pham Nhat Vuong.
