VN-Index ends five-session losing streak
The VN-Index, which represents the Ho Chi Minh Stock Exchange (HoSE), increased 3.43 points, or 0.34%, to 1,024.68 on Tuesday, ending its five-session losing streak.
Trading value on the HoSE hit only VND6.48 trillion ($272.5 million), down 30.54% from the previous session and the lowest level since November 6, 2020.
The southern bourse saw 222 gainers and 151 losers, with only 433 million shares changing hands.
Blue chips in the VN30 basket led the VN-Index gain with 18 tickers gaining and eight declining. Among the gainers, VRE of Vincom Retail, MSN of Masan group, SAB of brewer Sabeco, VHM of Vinhomes, and VJC of Vietjet Air expanded 1.5-3.7%, while the rest increased by less than 1%.
On the other side, TCB of Techcombank, NVL of property deverloper Novaland, MWG of Mobile World Investment Corp, and PDR of Phat Dat Real Estate Development Corp fell over 1%.
Green covered a number of groups such as banking, securities, industrial real estate, chemical and electricity.
Meawnhile, divergence was seen in real estate stocks as L14 of Licogi 14, VHM, CEO of CEO Group, and DIG of DIG Corp went up, while NLG of Nam Long Group, NBB of Nam Bay Bay Investment Corp, NVL, PDR, SCR of Saigon Thuong Tin Real Estate JSC, and HQC of Hoang Quan Corp dropped.
Foreign investors continued to be net sellers for the 10th consecutive session to the tune of over VND1.35 billion ($56,800) on the HoSE, much lower than over VND658.15 billion ($27.63 million) in the previous session.
They mainly net sold HPG of steel giant Hoa Phat, DXG of Dat Xanh Group, E1VFVN30 certificate, KDC of KIDO Group, and NLG.
The HNX-Index on the Hanoi bourse dropped 0.89 points to 202.38, while the UpCOM-Index on the unlisted public company market rose 0.59 points to close at 76.44.
