Work begins on new petrol port in Mekong Delta province
The NSH Petro JSC is building a VND350 billion ($15 million) petroleum storage and port project in the Mekong Delta province of Tra Vinh.
Located in Tra Cu district, the project will include a bio-gasoline blending plant with a capacity of 100,000 tons a year, a port able to handle ships of 15,000 tons, a liquefied gas station and petroleum storage tanks.
The Vietnamese company expects to put the project into use this November.
“We are committed to commencing port operations by November 2022,” NSH Petro chairman Mai Van Huy said at the ground-breaking ceremony last Friday.

Tra Vinh Vice Chairman Nguyen Quynh Thien said the project was of great significance for the province, awakening its potential and generating socio-economic and employment opportunities.
He asked provincial officials to support the company in carrying out the project so that it can be completed on schedule.
Tra Vinh is one of the 12 provinces in the Mekong Delta region, which also includes Can Tho city.
