Disciplinary action proposed against Deputy Prime Minister Le Minh Khai
The Central Inspection Committee has proposed relevant authorities discipline Deputy Prime Minister Le Minh Khai and many officials for their violations.
Late last week, the Party Central Committee had agreed to relieve Le Minh Khai, former Government Inspector General, from the position of Secretary of the Party Central Committee and and a committee member.

During a working session chaired by newly-elected Party General Secretary and State President To Lam last Saturday, the committee considered resignation letters of some central and local-level leaders, including Khai’s.
Based on Central Inspection Committee reports and Central Organizing Committee proposals, the Party Central Committee found that Khai and three other Party Central Committee members, namely Dang Quoc Khanh, Nguyen Xuan Ky and Chau Van Lam, had "violated the regulations on Party members’ code of conduct and responsibilities to set a good example as leaders, as well as rules on preventing and fighting corruption and wrongdoings. Khanh, Ky and Lam were also agreed to step down as Party Central Committee members.
Also in its release on Thursday, the Central Inspection Committee stated that it proposed taking disciplinary action against Party leaders of the Lam Dong province People’s Committee in the terms 2015-2020 and 2020-2025, and Party leaders of the Government Inspectorate in the term 2016-2021.
The Party leaders of Lam Dong People’s Committee violated the principle of democratic centralism and working regulations, lacked responsibility, showed lax leadership, and let the provincial People’s Committee and many organizations and individuals seriously violate the Party’s regulations and State laws in the management and use of land for a number of investment projects in the province.
They also let many Party organizations and members be disciplined or handled as criminals for their violations and shortcomings in the case of “giving bribes, receiving bribes; abusing positions and power while on duties” that occurred at the Dai Ninh urban area project in Lam Dong province and related localities and units.
"The above violations have caused serious consequences that are difficult to remedy, risking a huge loss of money and State assets, causing bad public opinion, and undermining the reputation of Party organizations and local governments to the point that they must be disciplined."
