Food giant Nutifood expands dairy processing plant investment in central Vietnam by nearly 4 times
Nutifood Highland Nutrition Food JSC, a subsidiary of Vietnam’s food giant Nutifood, has increased its investment in the Nutifood Highland Dairy Processing Plant in the central province of Gia Lai by nearly four times, from VND289 billion to VND1.05 trillion ($39.86 million).

The Gia Lai Economic Zone Authority has issued an adjusted investment registration certificate for the Nutifood Highland Dairy Processing Plant, developed by Nutifood Highland Nutrition Food JSC. Of the additional investment of VND761 billion ($28.9 million), Nutifood has already spent VND550 billion.
In terms of scale, the plant will increase its production capacity of pasteurized milk, UHT milk, fruit milk, chocolate malt drinks, and other liquid milk products from 110 million liters to 165 million liters per year.
Other products such as yogurt, cheese, powdered milk (currently 5,000 tons/year), and nutritional supplements (1,500 tons/year) will maintain their current production scale and continue to play an important role in the company’s product portfolio.
The Nutifood Highland Dairy Processing Plant is located on lots E1-E2-E3 of the Tra Da Industrial Park in Pleiku town, covering over 6.3 hectares of land.
According to the Gia Lai Economic Zone Authority, the expansion of the plant reinforces its role as one of the key agro-processing industrial facilities in the province. It contributes significantly to the local budget and enhances Gia Lai’s image as an attractive and dynamic destination for investment in food and agricultural processing.
Moreover, the project not only creates more jobs for local workers but also contributes to improving the nutritional quality of life for the local population with internationally standardized products.
According to Nutifood Highland Nutrition Food JSC, phase 2 of the expansion is expected to be completed and operational by November 2025. The company is committed to expediting the installation of production lines and fully complying with environmental, fire safety, land use, and investment regulations.
In addition to the processing plant, Nutifood also owns the Nutimilk Gia Lai Dairy Farm in Mang Yang commune (formerly Dak Ya commune, Mang Yang district), which spans over 1,000 hectares (with 600 hectares of natural pasture) and houses around 11,000 cows as of October 2024.
At the upcoming 2025 Gia Lai Investment Promotion Conference, the provincial People's Committee plans to sign a memorandum of investment with Nutifood on a project to expand the scale of its dairy farm and processing plant.
The collaboration aims to build and promote Gia Lai as a “Dairy Paradise,” with a projected investment of VND6 trillion ($227.76 million).
On July 1, 2025, the former Central Highlands province of Gia Lai was merged with its neighboring Binh Dinh province to form the new Gia lai province.
