Honda Vietnam is recalling three of its big-sized models - the Gold Wing, Africa Twin, and CBR1000RR-R Fireblade - because there is a possibility of the engine to stall while riding.

The Japanese producer has identified the reason is improper setting of the program in PGM-FI unit, but there are no cases of such engine failure reported in Vietnam to date, according to the Vietnam Register.

The nation’s vehicle registration agency says 76 units of the three models are being recalled from October 24, 2022 to October 24, 2024. The motorcycles were produced between December 2019 and June 2021.

In a related development, Honda Vietnam launched a recall on October 5 to replace incomplete welding in the driver's seat slide adjuster of Honda Civic and HR-V imported from Thailand.

This recall is a precautionary safety measure to rectify the welding point at the slide adjuster in the driver's seat, according to the company. When a collision occurs, it may cause the driver's seat to move and may compromise the seatbelt protection for the driver.
