Intel launches AI training for Vietnam university lecturers
Vietnam’s Ministry of Education and Training and Intel jointly launched Friday an artificial intelligence (AI) training course for university lecturers in Hanoi.

The training course, part of Intel’s AI for Future Workforce Program, is also the first joint activity between the ministry and the global tech giant under a memorandum of understanding signed by both sides on promoting digitalization in education.
The 225-hour training course will benefit 27 lecturers from eight science-technology universities in Hanoi, building a foundation for a competent AI workforce in the country. After completing the course, the lecturers are expected to update their training programs for university students with AI-related content.
Speaking at the event, Deputy Minister of Education and Training Hoang Minh Son said AI has improved daily life in many parts of the world and that Vietnam’s education sector must catch up with the trend. With Intel’s support, the training program can strongly help advance AI education in Vietnam, he added.
Son proposed that Intel expands the training program to other universities. The tech giant can also help Vietnam build AI research labs, he added.

Intel had said in January that it was willing to cooperate in training and accepting Vietnamese students as interns and employees per Vietnam's demand.
Brian Gonzalez, executive director of Intel Corporation, told Minister of Education and Training Nguyen Kim Son that digitalization training would include artificial intelligence (AI)-related content as well as emphasis on ethical and responsible conduct, he said.
In June, Phung Viet Thang, country manager of sales, marketing and communications group (SMG), country manager of sales, marketing and communications group (SMG), Intel Vietnam, said the US-based tech giant was planning to support Vietnamese software firms as they develop new features to fully harness the power of AI PCs.
"In terms of technology adoption, especially AI, Vietnamese people are very quick and adaptable. Vietnam has a large young population, particularly Gen Z, who are very open to new technologies. Currently, many Vietnamese people are already applying AI in their work and daily lives," Thang said.
