Mercedez-Benz to assemble AMG C43 sports cars in Vietnam
Mercedes-Benz Vietnam CEO Bradley Kelly says the company will assemble, for the first time, the famous sports sedan Mercedes-AMG C43 in the country next year.
Kelly announced this Wednesday on the sidelines of the ongoing Mercedes-Benz Driving Festival 2022 in Hanoi.
He attributed this “major step” to the growth and upgrade of MBV’s assembly-manufacturing lines in Vietnam. In 2021-2022, Mercedes-Benz Vietnam has invested $33 million in applying advanced technologies at its factory in Ho Chi Minh City.
With this move, Mercedes-Benz Vietnam will become the first automaker to bring completely knocked down (CKD) sports cars into the country. Cars assembled in Vietnam are expected to have lower prices due to lower import taxes.

Four Mercedes-AMG C-class models are available in Vietnam - the C200 Avantgarde, C200 Avantgarde Plus, C300 AMG and C300 AMG First Edition, with respective prices starting at VND1.68 billion ($70,401), VND1.79 billion, VND2.09 billion and VND2.4 billion.
Since its 1995 Vietnam debut, Mercedes-Benz has sold over 43,000 units in the country as of 2021.
