Nestlé-invested bottled water maker La Vie LLC must pay tax arrears, payment delay fees of $2.6 mln in Vietnam
La Vie LLC, a joint venture between Nestlé Water and a Long An province-based Vietnamese company, must pay tax arrears and payment delay fees of VND66.7 billion ($2.6 million), according to tax authorities.
The decision followed an inspection into La Vie conducted in April 2023, a recent statement of Long An's Tax Department said.

Long An's tax authorities clarified that some tax incentives for La Vie expired in 2015 and 2017. La Vie incorrectly filed tax declarations in 2016-2020.
The tax department stressed that the corporate income tax arrears are VND3.4 billion ($133,910) for the 2016-2020 period. The arrears for natural resource tax are VND61.6 billion ($2.43 million) for the same period. The environmental protection fees in arrears are VND1.7 billion ($66,970).
La Vie started investing in Long An province in 1992 and has raised its investment to $32.7 million. Its 2.4-hectare factory has a capacity of exploiting 1,560 cubic meters of water daily and producing 60,500 bottles of different sizes per hour.
