Retail major Saigon Co.op ships Vietnamese vermicelli, spices to US
A consignment of two containers with dipping sauce, vermicelli, noodles, spices, tea and coffee worth nearly $70,000 was shipped to the U.S. Wednesday.
The shipping was jointly done by Saigon Co.op Distribution LLC (SCD) and STC Natural Vina Company. The products were dispatched directly from Saigon Co.op's main warehouse in the southern province of Binh Duong.

The exported products will be available on the shelves of the H-mart supermarket chain operated by Hee Chang Group, a well-known South Korean retail organization that has built a network of more than 100 locations over 30 years in the U.S. market.
SCD had exported two containers of goods to Canada last month, also ordered by Hee Chang.
According to SCD, in the last three months of the year, the company plans to complete the export of 20 containers, focusing on large markets including the U.S., South Korea, Japan, Australia, China and various Middle Eastern countries.
In 2025, SCD aims to export between 120 and 150 containers, with an estimated value of VND120 billion ($4.72 million).
SCD's activities have significantly contributed to Saigon Co.op's revenues. In 2023, Saigon Co.op exported Vietnamese agricultural and seafood products worth nearly VND90 billion ($3.54 million) to Singapore.
Tran Anh Quang, director of SCD, said that through commercial contracts with partners like STC Natural Vina, Vietnamese products will have greater opportunities to penetrate the largest and most promising markets worldwide.
Yun SuBong, director of STC Natural Vina, said collaborating with Saigon Co.op, a leading consumer goods retailer in Vietnam, was a milestone in his company’s development. The partnership not only benefits both parties but also enhances economic and cultural exchanges between Vietnam and South Korea, he said.
SCD is part of the Ho Chi Minh City Union of Trading Cooperatives (Saigon Co.op). The company specializes in importing and exclusively distributing high-end products from leading corporations worldwide, including premium Parker and Waterman pens from Newell Rubbermaid Group (UK), GEM products like Pantene shampoo and Head & Shoulders from P&G Group (USA), Topmass nutritional powders from AIDA Company and Vitaplan milk from New Zealand.
SCT Natural Vina Company serves as a commercial representative for Hee Chang Group of South Korea, which owns the H-mart retail chain.
