Ship building giant SBIC chairman warned over violations
Minister of Transport Nguyen Van Thang has issued a warning to Vu Anh Tuan, chairman of Shipbuilding Industry Corporation (SBIC) for violations at the state-run corporation.
Previously, the Central Inspection Commission issued a warning to Tuan as a form of disciplinary action.

The Transport Ministry also reprimanded Cao Thanh Dong, board member of SBIC for violations. Previously, Dong had been reprimanded by the Central Inspection Commission.
The committee had also issued a warning to SBIC Party leaders in the 2010-2015 term.
It had also reprimanded SBIC Party leaders in the 2015-2020 term and Cao Thanh Dong, the corporation's board member.
Last December, Nguyen Ngoc Su, former SBIC chairman, was removed from the Vietnam Communist Party.
According to the committee, SBIC Party leaders in the 2010-2015 and 2015-2020 tenures violated the principle of democratic centralism and working regulations; showed loose leadership, direction; lacked inspection and supervision.
As a result, the board of members, the board of management, member units and a number of individuals violated Party regulations and State laws on the management and use of funds for enterprise restructuring, causing great loss and waste of money and property of the State. Many individuals have been processed as criminals.
The committee assessed that the above violations caused serious consequences, adversely affecting the reputation of Party organizations and the corporation, to the point that the units and individuals must be disciplined.
