Techcom Securities secures $175 mln from foreign banks for capex
Techcom Securities, under Vietnam's leading private bank Techcombank, has completed the disbursement of $175 million of syndicated loans from foreign banks, the firm announced on Monday.
Standard Chartered Bank, CTBC Bank, Taipei Fubon Commecial Bank, Taishin International Bank, and KGI Bank, acted as mandated lead arrangers and bookrunners (MLABs) for this loan, the biggest-ever for a Vietnamese securities firm.
The financing enables Techcom Securities to invest in infrastructure and cutting-edge technologies such as Machine Learning and GenAI, with the aim of better understanding the market and customer needs, and develop Techcom Securities’ internal capabilities.
The company will continue to leverage its strong financial position to serve its customers with policies such as zero fee trading and margin loan packages.
This deal brings the total cumulative value of unsecured international syndicated loans obtained by Techcom Securities since late 2020 to over $761 million.
Nguyen Thu Hien, CEO of Techcom Securities, highlighted that the firm has continuously demonstrated its capability and standing in the global market by successfully securing numerous large-scale unsecured loans from major financial institutions.
Diversifying its funding sources both domestically and internationally is a strategic move for Techcom Securities to become Vietnam's largest wealthtech firm in terms of equity, profitability, and operational efficiency, she added.
