During the June 6 event, Nguyen Tien Thanh, chairman and CEO of VEPH, provided an overview of VEPH's 68-year development history and highlighted the long-standing cooperation between VEPH and Lao partners over the past 30 years, especially since 1990.

"VEPH always cherishes, preserves, and develops existing relationships, while also seeking new partners and collaborations from Laos, with the desire for both sides to develop robustly and effectively, in line with the guidelines and orientations of the two countries’ Party and State leaders," he stated.

Samlane Phankhavong, Lao Minister of Education and Sports, expressed his gratitude for the valuable support and assistance provided by VEPH to relevant Lao agencies, particularly LESPH and the Lao National Education Printing Company.

The support has covered printing equipment, educational equipment, and staff training, contributing to improving the professional quality of these units, he said.

Phankhavong also congratulated VEPH on its achievements over the past 68 years and expressed his hope that the publisher will continue to strengthen cooperation with and support for Lao educational institutions.

Under the signed cooperation agreement, VEPH, LESPH, and the Lao Institute of Educational Sciences will collaborate on compiling a Vietnamese-Lao dictionary for school use, containing approximately 12,000 entries.

This dictionary will be particularly beneficial for Lao students studying subjects and training programs in Vietnamese in both Laos and Vietnam. It is expected to be published in 2027, coinciding with the 65th anniversary of Vietnam-Laos diplomatic relations (1962-2027) and the 70th anniversary of VEPH's establishment (1957-2027).

Annually, VEPH will provide a one-year Vietnamese language scholarship for one staff member from LESPH. The scholarship will cover tuition, accommodation, meals, travel, and living expenses if the participant attends the course in Vietnam. If the participant attends the course in Laos, the scholarship will cover tuition only.

Since 1990, the Lao Ministry of Education and Sports has sent delegations from various departments, including the Lao National Education Printing Company, the Lao Institute of Educational Sciences, the Lao National Book Publishing and Distribution House, LESPH, and the Lao National Educational Equipment Company, to Vietnam to exchange experience.

These exchanges spanned such areas as compiling, editing, typesetting, and printing educational books; producing and supplying educational equipment; publishing, printing, and distributing educational books; and personnel organisation and staff training.

These working programs and training courses have been highly valued by the Lao side for their quality and practical effectiveness. Furthermore, VEPH has consistently provided machinery and equipment to help improve the quality of textbook printing, serving the Lao education sector.
